The First Annual I ❤️ Chamber Music Festival
February 14 @ 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
8 AM: Faculty and volunteers will arrive early to complete setup and prepare all rooms and the check-in desk
8:30-9:30 AM: FACULTY rehearsals (Bach Concerto and Mendelssohn Piano Trio) and team organizational meeting
9:45-10:15 AM: Student check-in for scheduled MORNING GROUP rehearsals and coachings (coffee break for faculty!)
10:30-11:45 AM: MORNING rehearsals and coachings for scheduled groups with faculty coaches
11:30-12: Students begin check-in for scheduled AFTERNOON GROUP rehearsals and coachings
12-12:45 PM: Pizza lunch for all in the lobby! (Students with food sensitivities are encouraged to pack their own lunch and snacks. Water will be provided.)
1 PM: MORNING rehearsal groups will move through Activity Stations OR have individual practice time. AFTERNOON rehearsals and coachings begin
2-2:25 PM: Students presenting in INFORMANCE #1 will gather on stage for a pre-recital organizational meeting
2:30 PM: INFORMANCE #1 in DeMeester Recital Hall
Student performers and their coaches will be seated on stage and in rows 1-3.
Family and friends are invited to sit anywhere else in the hall (lights remain on)
1-3 PM: AFTERNOON rehearsals and coaching are ongoing in scheduled rooms
3:15-3:45 PM: Snacks for AFTERNOON groups and reception for INFORMANCE #1 performers in the lobby. AFTERNOON students are encouraged to “check in” on friends and peers who are performing at the 2:30 PM Informance 😊
3:30-3:55 PM: Students presenting in INFORMANCE #2 will gather on stage for a pre-recital organizational meeting
4 PM: INFORMANCE #2 in DeMeester Recital Hall
Student performers and their coaches will be seated on stage and in rows 1-3.
Family and friends are invited to sit anywhere else in the hall (lights remain on).
ALL are welcome to stay for (some of) this recital, if they have the energy 😊
4:45 PM: Festival ends as student performers depart; available faculty and volunteers assist with cleanup, classroom reset, and preparing the stage for the YCPrep recital on Sunday, 2/15. (6 PM: All depart – Happy Valentine’s Day!)
After the festival weekend:
POST pictures to your social media: be ambassadors of chamber music! 😊
All students will receive (electronically) a printer-ready “Informance” program documenting their participation and musical achievement(s) on Festival Day
All students grades 5-9 are encouraged to sign up for the YSO/YCP “York Summer Music Experience” camp (held June 21-26, at York College): a link will be provided in addition to the flyer that is handed out at registration
EVERYONE is invited to continue to MAKE MUSIC with your chamber group this spring in a “Salon” recital (performance at local retirement communities), a Matinee Music Club recital (grades 7 and up) or a YMTA recital (open to all). Dates and more information on how to sign up will be provided to all festival participants
