An interactive, hands-on opportunity to see, touch, hold, play, and hear advanced performers play the instruments of the orchestra. Periodic pop-up ensemble performances by the YJSO Octet as well as performances by a York Symphony quartet and the First Capitol Brass will highlight this open-forum experience.
Drop-in Any Time A drop-in opportunity to learn the Blues scale, play a simple progression, and do a 12-bar blues improv experiment – encourage auditioning students to do this to loosen them up (!) and make sure there are no-experience-needed chances to play along (percussion, perhaps).
